Question Oil Change Changed the PRESSURE

Hi all
Changed the oil and filter in the ol' 1973 220d and the oil pressure gauge is now around 20 when in neutral. Still goes MAX. 45 when in gear. Wanted to clarify the this is alright. Drove 300 miles after doing it and it seems sooo happy. Also, the replacement filter, WIX, was bigger then the old.

I used the 15w-40 SHELL Rotella.
LATER....

Was this the first time you changed it? I know a technique to make a higher pressure is to use more viscous oil in older motors and thinking it could have been a thicker grade in the past? I'm still a newby with the 300D but well experienced on other models.

The filter should not have been significantly different from the old model. YOu sure you had the right part?
