Our 1999 300D was running pretty well but would not start on cold mornings. There was air visible in the fuel lines feeding the injection pump. After a long saga, the dealer here in Alexandria, VA replaced the injection pump. It ran well but smoked terribly after, and a couple of tanks later it has a bent rod, so says the dealer.

The body is fine and the interior needs the overhead reglued around the edges (or simply replaced) but everything on the car works and everything is in fine condition - no rips, tears, etc. It is certainly no junker. Sadly, we live in an apartment and I cannot do more than quick maintenance here.

We need to either sell the car as-is or find someone who will replace the engine, and I need advice.

Does anyone know of someone who would replace the engine? Does anyone know where I could find another engine (short block only required, I assume)? Does anyone know of someone who might be interested in buying the car?
