I have just purchased a 1988 300td. The engine sounds strong it has a slight cold engine miss, I think it is due to the non-operational glow plugs. The transmission has a clean shift, the car handles good and the body looks straight. My question is (not being familiar with the Mercedes-Benz vehicle or the engine itself yet being familiar with diesel engines in general) What are the major things that I need to look out for?
