I picked up a 79 300TD and the guy I got it from did not have the keys for it is there any way I can get this thing running without the key's right now? I don't need steering right now I just want to get it running to see if the car is worth it to put some more time and effort into. TIA

 

Good point I should have added that I have the title in hand and the car was given to me by a person that I have known for year's and has had this car since i've known him so that is not an issue. are there any guides to replace the cylinder that does not require having the key? would it be wise to take a screw driver to the ignition?

 

Well I called the closest MB dealer to me (300 miles away) and they are shipping me a new key! Thanks a bunch for the help ForcedInduction I appreciat it.
