Default Which wire is hot?

Hey guys,

I'm working with the garage door opener module (Homelink) located inside the rear view mirror of a 2000 E320. One wire is brown the other is white with a blue stripe. Which one is the positive and which one is the ground. I talked with my local dealer and they do not have a wire diagram for inside the mirror.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Brown is always ground. As for a battery power can't tell you what kind of voltage you will have there if any. Never played around with the buttons on the mirror much.
What is your concern?

I am wiring the module into another car (different make and model)so I needed to know which wireis positive and which is the ground. I assume it takes 12 volts as the wires run to the main mirror plug which connects into the car's wiring system.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I'll will take a look at the wire diag. if I have a chance. Can't say I will know for sure unless I have to take one apart tomorrow. Still may be a low voltage circuit though. usually 5v.
