Help 82 300sd wont start??
Hi,
The other day the car was very sluggish.. I replace both the fuel filters and no change.
I could get it started at if it was over 1000 rpm it was fine, good gas flow, decent response. If you let of of the gas to let it idle it would DIE..
It would take a few cranks to get it started.
I had to drive it a few miles back to the house by popping it in Neutral keeping the rpm up at stoplights.
I got it home and it wont start at all!!
There is fuel getting to the injector pump since the filter there is full of gas.
I was going to pull all the injector lines, then the injectors to see if anything is clogged up.
I cant see what else it could be...
Any HELP is appreciated..
Chris

Well, my thinking is that if it was a fuel problem then it would idle but run like crap at higher rpms. Therefore I think it's a compression related issue. Adjust the valves and run a compression test and see what you have.
