i recently got a 300sd for cheap. i fixed the bad turbo, now it wont start. when i bought it, it hadnt been started in 3 yrs. i put new fuel in checked all glow plugs (1 bad), new primer pump, and still nothing. it cranks and cranks but no start. there is good pressure at the in side of the ip, but not hardly anything at the injectors. any help would be greatly appreciated. im just guessing here so my questions are, would the vaccum shut off be stuck? bad or dried out ip?

how's the glow plug fuse?The shut off valve is normally on. Applying vacuum causes the diaphgram to extend and pushes the rack shut. I doubt the valve is failed in the extended position. Try starting in neutral if the transmission linkage is sloppy.

 

Another thing that helps. Remove the plug from the injector return line (last injector). Operate the primer until fuel runs out of the return line. Install the plug. This purge removes a lot of air from a fuel system and reduces time to start when the fuel system has been opened.
