Default Glowplug Relay strip fuse broken

I have a 1984 3300D and the GP light stopped coming on. I opened the GP relay box and the fuse strip is broken (melted actually). I had just tried to start the car and there was a burnt smell coming from the fuse strip. I have read other threads here and want to see if this is how I should proceed.

1 - Use a multimeter to test each GP from the harness in the relay box.
2 - replace bad GPs
3 - replace the fuse strip

Is that right, or is there something else? What causes the fuse strip to break? I just got an oil change two days ago. is it possible that some oil got onto a GP wire and shorted it out?

Thanks so much!

Oil will not short electricals!

I would proceed with your 3 steps.........Ohms should be somewhere around 0.3 to 0.8 usually for GP's. Digit hunting indicates a dead GP. GP relays can go bad too!
