Opened up my Baldwin Fuel Filter and here are the results.







Lot of water and pretty filthy. This fuel filter mod was installed back in the beginning of April 2011. So roughly 5 months and it did what it was supposed to do. I am surprised at the amount of water. Def. something I suggest everyone do.

That's the thing! I pump a different stations. Primarily Hess and Exxon. I live in major city ( Miami ). There is plenty of circulation at the pumps. All that water actually seemed like very diluted diesel. I'm thinking it's my gas tank that needs a good cleaning as my primary has to be replaced every 1-2k miles.

 

The Baldwin filter had a lot of rust type particles. Precisely the same type as can be viewed in my primary within days of replacing it. This is evident that its rust or corrosion inside the fuel tank. The fuel tank looks fine on the outside but its probably horrific on the inside.

While I was buying the wagon I asked the owner why the primary was missing and his response was: "Im tired of replacing it so frequently so i bypassed it"..DOUGH!!
So that same day I pulled the fuel tank strainer and:





Yeeeeaaaaap!! The Original strainer from 26 years ago looked as if it was dipped in hot chocolate...

Im prob gonna get a jug of BIOKLEEN as soon as money allows and see what happens. I dont like that its an additive, maybe Ill purge her with it instead.
