Default Converting a 300D to manual transmission

I want to get a 300d wagon to run on biodiesel. it seems they are unavailable or at least very rare with a manual tranny. I've heard the 240d 4 speed bolts right up to the 5 cylinder engine. Is there a good source for these transmissions?

Another idea i had was to adapt a common 5 speed such as a tremac T5 to the mercedes engine. More work than it's worth? I will have access to a basic machine shop and CAD equipment. If some basic stuff needs fabricating i'd be very into doing it.
