Cool converting M112 3.2L to 3.7L

Anyone got an idea about converting M112 3.2L to 3.7L or know the stuff the job may involve ? To my knowledge both hold the same design yet the latter has a bigger bore which makes it distinctly different. I could be wrong but, if I'm not, the job might be not too hard.

I'm looking at ways to upgrade the performance.

Thanks.

Yes, if the one is significantly different on many aspects from the other. What I learnt about E37 is it is still based on M112 platform but is bored to 97mm ( E32 is 89.9mm ) while the stroker remains unchanged. That makes me wonder if I can fix the conversion by changing the cylinder/pistons and, if necessary, getting the fuel supply re-mapped along. Of course I could be wrong about it. Well, I did the engine swap once and got 3.2L done before but I'm looking at something else cheaper to gain some more torque....

That could be a lot more critical to inline six but M112 3.2 is a V six in 90-degree which might soften the concern and allow more buffer mechanically. Definitely yes, things like that are what I need to find out. Thanks.

Default You won't

bore or stroke a 3.2 into an 3.7 like the engines in the ml350 models. Why would you even consider it?All that work even if you bought the 3.7 out of an ML just to gain 20h.p. and about the same TQ. gain?
M112 superchargers are available, turbos can be fitted,E55 engines with 120 more h.p. can be swapped in if you are looking for real gains.
All that work to do a 3.7 m112 would make no rhyme nor reason.

Yes, comparing to E32, E37 is not much to look at as far as the horse power gain is concerned. The pursuit is actually aimed at the gain in torque. More than 360nm couldn't be too bad. I could be wrong but if I don't really need to swap the engine entirely but the cylinder block and the pistons only, the C/P wouldn't look so bad. Definitely yes, if I considered an engine swap now, the choice would be C32 or E55 for sure. Another choice would go to something like Kleeman's supercharger, but it comes to a matter of USD 12,500 here. Well, when it comes to a turbo system, the heat under the hood could be another serious concern to deal with. Is there anything else missed here ? I try not to let my enthusiasm die, but it seems hard to go further without serious money to burn...
