Default conversion?

call me crazy, but is it possible to take oh say the motor from a W210 E300 TurboDiesel and say convert it to run on pump gas? and If so, what manual transmissions are available to mate to that motor? and THEN are there any Mercedes Rear End's that are limited slip that i can also mate to it. I am bored of my E320 and i dont want to do minor tuning stuff to it. plus the renntech 3.8l conversion cost more than my car is worth lol. so i figure why not go snail?

lemme know guys

thanks

Dave

Default RE: conversion?

I once saw5.0 Mustang GT enginewith a T-5trans in an E300at a car show. Not sure if it was custom or a conversion kitand I don't remember talking to the owner about how it was done. But I know it can be done, and the aftermarket is flush with go parts for these setups. Just a thought.

Default RE: conversion?

JTR (Jaguars that run) makes a conversion kit to put small block Chevys in diesel mercedes cars. I once put a small block chevy in an S-10 truck, and I used their motor mount adapters. They make kits to put a small block chevy in just about everything. They sell the parts and step by step books. The website is www.jagsthatrun.com
