Default changing glow plugs

I have a 1996 e300d i have tore apart and was wondering if there is anything i can do to prevent the intake from getting all gummed up again with oil slime? Can i jet put a breather hose on an make it long enoughto no splash onto engine like a road draft tube on a big truck.
