Here's the car. The bumper looks euro.

Wait a sec... Then this doesn't make sense. Can you shed some light for me...

From what I read it's a euro spec model but the back of the car says "Turbo Diesel". Maybe it's american... He says it's a 1985. Is it possible that it's older? I don't think he's lying. He's the original owner.

Here are some pictures...

Here's the Vin # wdb1231931f015372

What made it seem like a euro spec model was the bumpers, the no lock glove compartment and the missing shifter wood panel.

Am I wrong? Please help! I'm picking it up tomorrow morning!

I really apologize for bumping this post up but I really need some help. Is this car euro or not? I was told is was a 1985 300TD. Does anyone have experience trying to insure a car with a Vin similar to mine?

WDB1231931F015372

I was able to pull up a car fax but all it tells me is the registration history and doesn't say what car it is...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Picking up the car in a few hours!

Thank you!

Digiedit!

Have you looked here? A Mercedes-Benz VIN decoder site; but only for vehicles sold in the North America market.

http://northernresource.com/mercedes...in-decoder.htm

It appears the VIN you posted does not match the VIN information used for the North America market (given the year of the vehicle); so this could be a vehicle built for the European/World Market.

Don't know if you found the answer for the "exceeds mechanical limitations" question, but I know that in some states if a car is past a certain age they automatically put that on the title whether it's been changed or not.
