Blower motor blowd up?

Blower motor blowd up?
Just bought my first BM 1980 240D with 127,700 miles this week. What a rocket!
The heater/blower does not work. No sound, no anything. I replaced fuse, no luck. Is there any easy check to see if I need a new blower?
I am also in need of a few body moulding and rubber bumber brackets. Any recommendations on where to purchase these items. We do not have any junk yards in Juneau.
Thanks.

RE: Blower motor blowd up?
Your gonna love the 240D. They are slow but FANTASTIC cars. My daughter just wrecked her '80 240D and I know it's what saved her life. You need to understand they are addictive and once you own one you can't be with out one.
The blower motor is located on the passenger side of the car. Remove the cover and test for voltage with a test light, have the ignition on while testing. You should have one wire (I can't remember the color right now) that will light your test light to full brightness. The other wire should not light the light at all. If it does it will be kinda dim, that means you have a ground issue on that wire. If you have no voltage at the connector you need to check fuse and switch. If you have voltage the motor is bad. The blower is cheap from a pick and pull and not hard to replace. From what I gather the blower motor was known to go bad. I've had two 123 cars, both had a bad motor.
Good luck,
Tony T
