Default IP or fuel pump

A better question to help me diagnose my problem , seems to be fuel related. Does the fule pump get tired? Will it perform fine when cold and lower psi when warm? Same question for IP? or does Ip just fail?
thanks.

I drive the same year car, and I would suggest checking both fuel filters as a start to insure that they are seated properly, and that the O ring in the pre-filter is properly in place. The only time I encountered this type of issue was this past winter. Temperature was down around 20 degrees, and on my last fillup, the amount of anti-gel I had on hand was not sufficient for the amount of fuel I added. The next morning, when I first started out, the car would only reach 40 mph, and it was very sluggish. After about 5 minutes of driving, that condition cleared up. The other issue could be algea buildup in the fuel tank. I use Startron on a regular basis, and have not had any issues in that area. If it is algea, even if you change out the fuel filters, it will clog them up in short order if not treated. Hope this helps....

Since the algae issue was brought up, how would one fix an algae issue ? Is this a common problem for diesels ? Does it only affect fuel tanks, or the fuel lines also ?
Thanks.

There's an additive you buy at most any auto parts store that will kill whatever algae is in there. You will have to do a couple filter changes as the dead organisms get flushed through the system.
