Bleeding the Air
Bleeding the Air: On one like My 84 300D you use the Hand Primer to bleed the Air out of the Fuel Supply System.
You pump on the Hand Primer and when the Air is out the Fuel Pressure Relief/Overflow Valve makes a buzzing/squeeling/type noise. After that you Pump on the Hand Primer some more to be sure.
On the later models with no Hand Primer the Fuel Pressure Relievf/Over Flow Valve has a built in Air Bleed. All you can do is crank the Engine to get the Air out of the Fuel Supply System.
On old or new Models you still have hard Starting you need to loosen the Fuel Injection Line Nuts at the Injectors and crank the Engine to get the Air out of the Fuel Injection Lines fast and then tighten up the Fuel Injection Line Nuts
On old or new Models if you can pre fil the Spin-on Fuel Filter with clean Diesel Fuel it decreases the amount of Air the Fuel Supply System has to bleed out.
