Default Hardwire radar in ml320

Hello,

I would like to hardwire my wife's Passport but I am unsure where to pull power from.
Has anyone used the glovebox light lead. apparently it only works with the ignition on so it seems a logical choice. last thing I want to do is throw a body code by insalling this unit foolishly.

Thank you,

What's wrong with buying the cigarette lighter splitter and plugging it in? I have 4 items plugged this way.
BTW do you have any real experience with Passport?
After getting ticket with Cobra (9 sensors) late warning I bought Valentine. Drove with both of them for over 3000 miles.
Cobra is good for detecting cell-phones and communication signals, but after 1000 false alarms, when the real radar comes it gives low-signal late warning.
In another words Cobra is good for parking on steep grades ... as a wheel choke.

There isn't anything wrong with splitters, they work fine. I don't like seeing wires.
I have a V1 in my car (hardwired) nice detector.
I 'm not sure where you got the impression that I have a Cobra but thanks for the advice.

how about the radio power? that way, should you want it turned off, you an turn the radio off, and it would shut off with it, plus it wouldnt be on when the car is not on...

or, how about hardwiring it to the battery with a fused connection and running a seperate swtich, maybe under the dash?

How would you wire this? Is there a switched power connection on the back of the radio somewhere?

I have 4-splitter on the cable, so I can hide it under the seat and have only wires going to their places. The long cable for tire pressure monitoring panel gives me the biggest headache, since it slides out from under the seat on heavy braking.
I read, that you have Passport and that is why I asked if you have any confirmation, that it is doing the job?
As I said, I tested the $100 Cobra to be a piece of garbage.
The $400 Valentines is good, but expensive. Wonder, if there are any more working options?
