For Sale: 1972 Mercedes 280SE (W108)
This is a beautiful car but it doesn't run. I can get it running with starting fluid so I know it has a fuel problem. It also needs a valve job. I have an additional engine and transmission from a '71 280SE that ran when the donor car wrecked. It still has the exhaust manifold, fuel injector pump and other attachments. I can email photos of both the car and the separate engine.
My 280 has some rusty areas, of which I have photos. There's nothing serious and it's isolated. I've been to a local welding shop. They can do some of the metal fab and it doesn't cost much. For example, I'm pretty much rebuilding the body of a 1980 Toyota Landcruiser right now with sheet metal they fabricated. The rocker panels and quarter panels, where the rust is, are also available from Adistco.com.
I'm asking $2,500 OBO for the car with the extra drivtrain. Although I will sell them separately, or even part-out the car if I have to, I think the most prudent thing to do is keep everything together. I will deliver it for no extra fee if you live within a reasonable distance from Clarksville, TN 37040.
One last note... I have a ton of cannibalized W108 interior, body and engine parts. If you need something let me know. I need to get rid of the clutter.
Thanks,
Shane
