Default 280SE 1972 fuel pump relay, wiring, questions

While troubleshooting my fuel problems from having old fuel sit too long, and having replaced the fuel pump and other items, I have now somehow lost power to the fuel pump.

A owner on one forum said he had TWO rectangular relays on his passenger side fender well. Does anyone else know if there should be 2 relays? Also, where he said the fuel pump relay should be, mounted to the passenger side front fender well, I have a different 5 pin relay (Bosch 332 202 001). The wall on my car only has vibration mounts for one relay behind the battery.

I have tested and confirmed continuity across the #4 fuse, as well as the others, in the driver's floorboard. I tested the one rectangular relay on a separate battery and it works like it should. However, it is being plugged into a holder that, in either direction you install it, the 87 pin goes into an empty plastic hole. Only 87A goes into a metal sleeve. And, doing a voltage check from ground to the pins, in both the off and run positions, I get zero volts. So, I'm not sure what or when or how this relay controls anything at the moment. Going to the relay holder is a brown wire to #5, a blue with white stripe to #3, a purple with white stripe to #4, and a big blue and a small blue to #2 (the small blue's wire shows corrosion). If I was going to jumper across the relay, I'm not even sure what I would try to jumper. I unhooked the positive wire at the fuel pump, and connected it to a wire I ran all the way back to the battery area, but could not find continuity anywhere. Does anyone have ANY suggestions to continue my troubleshooting? Thanks!!
