I've been shopping pretty hard for a diesel wagon I can afford and afford to maintain. This means an 87 merc or a 97 passat. The passats are rare and the mercs are scary to maintain (I understand). In that searching I ran across this...a 1999 mercedes 300e turbo diesel sedan for 2800. That is, cough, substantially below bluebook.

I sent the poster an email suggesting that the price was mistaken. This is what I got in response. If this is exactly what you want and you find this helpful, say thanks by looking under rocks for a passat wagon or a merc wagon I can afford and afford to maintain.

This does sound "too good to be true". Maybe he has a picture? I would find out where he purchased the car and get any records you can. Get the VIN and check it out on CARFAX. Do you know someone near the car that can personally inspect it?" For that price, I would fly out and look at it myself before any money changed hands.

There are many money scams in the internet, so be careful. Hope this helps.

probally the same scam artists just arrested in new jersey for pulling off 100 s of scams involving everthing from cars to baseball cards.........



oldest scam in the book if u ask me........... i moved to the uk but the car is located............. i have a 20,000 dollar deposit with ebay for secure transaction...........i accept western union only.............

stay away at all costs.........

do a complete search of these cars on ebay.........you ll probally find the same vin # on a listing that ended...........easy way for scammer s to lift vins ..........

 

Okay, ive seent his one before. SCAM SCAM SCAM ! ! !. How do you scammers do this you fools? Doesnt dishonesty hurt you? Dont you feel bad jsut trying to steal your way through life? DO NOT INQUIRE WITH THIS GUY!!!!! HE IS A LYING SCAMMER!!! this deal is too good to be true and he is a scammer trying to steal our money.

 

don't ya'll agree that the guy who posted the original message is the scammer? I mean if he had been searching so hard wouldn't he have bought this himself or at least investigated it privately so someone else didn't buy it instead? I think we should watch him.
