1976 Mercedes 240D with auto trans. 149,000 mile. $500 whole ??? for the part you need. Body has rust through but looks presentable. Interior is about an 8 on a scale of one through 10. have all maintenance records and pictures of work progress showing the inner fenders being professionally replaced sometime in its past. I bought it and drove it for two weeks, then came out one morning and it would not start. I have got it to start after much effort, three times in the last year. When it starts, it stays running, but once it is turned off it is very very difficult to get to restart again. I am an accomplished auto mechanic (amateur), but have no experience with diesels, so I am lost. I WILL ALSO PART THIS CAR OUT. The car's AC was upgraded to use the new freon and worked great.
