I need a 2" receiver hitch for a 1980 300SD. Interested in purchasing or if one is not available in designing one.

Look in your Yellow Pages under Trailer Hitches. Or, are you asking here because you want a used one?

 

I'm looking for a used one. Also, I have been unable to find any receiver hitches for a 300SD.

I have one, but it is only 1.25 x 1.25. I think tongue weight is only 200 pounds. It mounts to the bumper and the trunk wall. I believe when they were selling these, you could increase rated tongue weight with a back-up plate for the trunk wall. But not sure. If you are interested let me know.

Will your hitch mount to a 1980 300Sd with the W116 body style? It looks like you might have one for a later 300SD with the W123 body. That probably won't work for me. Let me know.

Ah - I didn't read your post well enough. I do not believe it will work for a 116, but maybe somebody here knows better? It is for a 126 body.
