Default Time for a new project

Back in 1983 we imported a 1972 350sl from Brussels for my father. It was only driven for a couple years , then parked. Well, the years haven't been too good to her and with Dad now 82, it's not likely he'll ever get it back on the road.
I build musclecars and streetrods and have a great wife. A great wife that has tolerated all forms of automobiles being built and never asked for anything.... until recently. She wanted her own weekend car and asked if I'd build her an early Camaro. If it were anyone else, I'd think they were joking as 99% of what I build is Ford or Ford powered. No, she wasn't joking. I didn't want to build another musclecar, so I asked her if the SL would do. Her only concern was that she didn't want another roadster, as the '23 roadster tangles her hair (girl thing). I showed her a picture of a SL and she was good with it. Dodged another Chevy bullet....
Well, we extracted it today, and if you have a weak stomach, turn away now. All in all, it really is in very good shape, but may need paint.

After a couple hours of cleaning

Pretty much ALL the rubber is going to be replaced, and it looks like a couple visor clips are in order, too.
More to come.....
