Car Shakes Vigorously When Stopped
I have a 1986 560 sel with 250,000 miles and just recently it has been shaking pretty bad when stopped at a red light or etc. I was told it was the spark plugs but after I replaced them with Bocsh, the car still shakes when at stop. Would anyone have any suggestions about the reason for it shaking so vigorously?
Thanks

I would vote for checking the plug wires first since they were disturbed when you installed the spark plugs.
Make sure they are all the way on. Pull each off its plug and press back on until they "click." Check the distributor cap end as well. Pull off and "click" back on. Might want to get a new distributor cap (does it have one?).
If that doesn't help, remove each wire and check the resistance of each with a multimeter. One or more may be broken.

When you are stopped, are you on top of a washing machine, popcorn machine, vibrator, or maybee even a jackhammer?
Also, when you stop do you do so by hitting the brakes or by crahsing into something? If you do it by crashing into something im sorry but i think you have a problem.
If you are just quincidently stopping on vibratig objects try 1)stopping before them as to avoid them, or 2) drive over or around them as to not stop on top of them.
