Default When should you drop your comp/collision insurance?

My car has so many miles that I'm wondering if it is worth it to keep my comprehensive and collision insurance. I think that I may just keep the liability and save myself some money. I have a $1000 deductable and think that the ins co may only give me a few grand if I get in an accident... which happens to be my fault! Any tips/advice?

`If you bank the money you would spend chances are you will have more money to fix it then they will give you. One plus with having it is if in a wreck and it is the other guy's fault their insurance co might [has to me] state it's equall faults and not pay out. It leaves you to fight it your self as your company has nothing at stake and does nothing.

...When you can afford to walk away from a wrecked car and not be financially inconvenienced by it. (just my opinion.)

It seems to me that full insurance does not make any sense.
