Default WeatherBug Warning!

There is a neat little program called "WeatherBug" that will tell you
the local weather AND install free spyware on your computer for you. Of
course everyone follows the rules at Modern and would Never install
unauthorized software, but you might want to know for your home unit.
However, If someone snuck in late at night and put it on your computer here at work and you're suddenly getting lots of pop-up ads and such, let us know with an email to Support.
Just an FYI, I get these tech notes from our IT department all the time.

Here is a list of names associated to malware/pup/spyware.

- Free screensavers
- Weatherbug
- Search bars
- HotBar
- Gator
- Gozillia
- Gain
- eDonkey
- Bonzi Buddy
- Xupiter
- Winservs.exe
- Winservn
- NoPop
- JimmySurf
- AudioGalaxy
- Morpheus
- Kazaa

A lot of people are just dumb. Why do they need searchbars? Haven't they heard of something called "Google"?

And...why do you need the so-called screensavers? If one really wants to save the screen, (s)he can set the computer to turn off the monitor after 1-min, 20-min, or such specified time of idling.

Like Vonage says...PEOPLE DO STUPID THINGS.
