NY Skyscraper Hit By Plane
5:04 PM ET Update: A small plane with New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle aboard crashed into a 50-story condominium tower Wednesday on Manhattan's Upper East Side, killing at least four people, authorities said. (AP)
Christine Monaco, a New York spokeswoman for the FBI, said there was no indication of terrorism. FAA spokesman Jim Peters said all three New York City-area airports were operating normally.
Large crowds gathered at the crash scene in the tony New York neighborhood, with many people in tears and others trying to reach loved ones by cell phone. Mayor Michael Bloomberg went to the site, where parts of the fuselage fell to the ground.

As a private pilot myself, I cannot understand how two licensed pilots, flying in broad daylight, can fly a Cirrus which has excellent visibility out of the cockpit, into a skyscraper! There has to be more to this story than we've heard!

Don't they check them things before takeoff? Of all this tech. things still go wrong that cause them sort of things. Hell, if you spend that much money on something it should be reliable, but if it wasn't a malfunction, how do one actually fly into a building on accident?
And New York skyscrapers have been having a rough decade.
