Default Warning Light Cclass 230

I love my car and its telling me something is wrong. Its a 2001 c 230 coupe and the display Defective Warning light is on. I looked up the handbook and it says the engine control unit is not complete. I treat my car with great respect so what should I do now - L.

Check your rear SAM module. They will go bad and bring the can line down.

Thanks Bear for your reply.

Unfortunately i have no idea what you mean by 'SAM' and 'CAN' so if you could tell me what these two rearms mean it would be very helpful. thanks again

The SAM is the name of a control module that operates various components in your vehicle like your lights, and your trunk switch, and locks. The CAN system is how the control modules talk to each other (has more than one module). Your best bet is to have a shop look at it. Look in the trunk on the left hand side and check the fuses that fuse box is part of the rear sam.
