I am on my second S420, the ex got the first one. A 1998 black on tan car. I have had it two years and it is keeping to my $2k a year mainenance budget, barely!

I just had to put a new drive shaft in at 129500 miles. The u-joints apparently wear out and it is all one unit. I got a remanufactured one for $360 vice the $1700 for a new one.

I love driving these cars. The ultimate in luxury, comfort, style and safety. They are going fairly cheep these days but they are not cheap to keep nice. I paid $9500 for mine, it is mint, but I would expect to put that much into over the next 5 years. Still, for around $20k over 5 years, it is a lot of car when you consider a new Honda Civic goes for around $23k new.
