I replaced the car battery, on a 2001 C320 and now the smartkey wont work. any suggestions. I have tried resynchronizing the key, but since the smartkey is not working the ignition system is locked and cannot turn the key to synchronize. Can anyone offer any ideas?

I dont believe they are the same problem. Did your drop the key by any chance??

 

Not sure about your model, but my SL400 lost its synchronization. I tried everything and then pulled the smart key blade fuse, re-inserted it and bingo. Simple at home fix 10 minutes.
