I have a 2005 c230 kompressor. When I turn on the headlights the turn signals do not work on the dash or outside except for the drivers side rear. The gas gauge slowly goes to empty as well. The display says display malfunction. The check engine light also came on and the code was computer, failure to communicate. The car has 107,000 miles.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Hello and welcome to the forum! That failure to communicate code is part of the ECU error codes. I would bring the car in to test the actual ECU and see if there is a malfunction with the unit itself.

 

Thank you for your message. I think you might be right. It doesn’t make much sense as to what is happening, but with the check engine light code, I would tend to agree with you. Several people have suggested a Sam module. After reading post about the San it doesn’t sound like that is my problem. I will have it checked out and let you know what I find out.
