Newbie needs to know if C230 with High Miles OK?
Hello to all. Would appreciate your feedback on the following. (I have also posted this same question in the C-Class forum, so please excuse the duplication. )
I am considering purchasing a very nice but older 1997 MB C230. The vehicle has 139,000 miles on it, but appears to be in great shape. It runs and drives nicely. The car dealer just had it checked out by a reputable repair shop and the vehicle was given a clean bill of health.
Having never owned a Mercedes, I have two concerns:
- What kind of longevity can I reasonably expect from a car with this many miles?
- Everyone seems to be scared of MB repair costs. Should I be?
Thanks for your quick response. I will need to make a buy/ no buy decision NLT tomorrow.

as long as the services are good and regular the high miles shouldnt be a problem i used to work as a mechanic for a mb dearlership in uk and thought nothing of seeing mercs with 250000miles on clock and still running well
BUT MAKE SURE THE CATALIC CONVERTER IS GOOD as they are very expencive on mercs
