Hello forum members,
I just bought a 1999 SL 500 brilliant silver with ash interior. Seems like a fabulous ride so far. I am an fanatic so even though the previous one owner kept the car immaculate, I have a couple things to deal with. 1. I a adding a CD player in the trunk, one I bought on ebay. 2. The inside mirror is a little loose and the dealer told me it can only be replaced with the whole top of the interior of the windshield. $1000+, seems ridiculous. I would be interested in a less expensive fix. 3. I have to get a front license plate bracket since the car is a Delaware car and I live in New Jersey. Any ideas other than the one I found for $78.00. Keep in mind now that I also have 3 jaguars, 1982 XJS coupe, 1988 XJS convertible, and 2002 XJ8 and I am hoping from a mechanical perspective that the SL will be a breath of fresh air.
