new owner of a old mercedes
New here and new to Mercedes cars. worked on many cars but never a Mercedes.
My first problem is getting the ignition key housing off the steering column so i can get the car to my place. its a 1974 W144
I have no key and need to take the lock to a smith to have a key made plus disable the steering lock so i can get the car to my place to start working on it. It was cheap and no longer needs smog so it looks to be just right for my needs. Plus i know it ran a year ago because someone i knew hot wired it and started the engine and the car only has 80,000 miles on it.the previous owner never used it much and became disabled and unable to drive.
I am disabled but still able to do work on cars it just takes a lot longer.
