Just wanted to say hi to the MB community, got my first one recently. It's a 2007 Silver CLK 350 Coupe, and with only 25,000 miles! Loving it, but have a few questions. Bought it at Carmax, with certification and warrantly and am still within my first 30 days (you know where you can get them to repair anything that needs to be addressed) and am concerned about a cranking noise when I apply the brakes in a downhill slope or in reverse. It's not too loud but definately noticeable and you can can feel it. I took it in the first time to Carmax and they insisted that there was nothing wrong with the brakes, but the noise was still there so I've taken it in again. It's sitting at Carmax as I'm writing this, and I recieved a phone call from the Carmax people who keep insisting that there is no noise. I then proceeded to explain to the tech consultant that I'm not a car expert but it seems pretty obvious that there is a noise when applying the brakes when on a down hill slope or in reverse, and of course they are going to call me back. I told them is seems like it may be the brake pads. I would welcome any suggestions at this point. Could it be something else that is related to the brakes?
