Greetings from Australia!
Hi all,
I'm from Brisbane, Australia and I just signed up with mercedesforum having got my first ever car, which is a 1988 Mercedes 300E. Dad's a bit of a collector of old merc's (has 4 at the mo), and this one used to be his daily to and from work drive. He now uses a 560SEL. The car has thus been given to me since I recently got my license and need to go to and from uni every day.
As you can see, the exterior is looking pretty good - it's the interior that needs some serious attention. I want to redo all the woodgrain, install a new dash assembly, steering wheel, seats (they're broken), gear **** and door trims. Obviously one thing at a time though... Even if all those things do need to be done ASAP. Unfortunatelly, I want leather, but if I do it one thing at a time that will look stupid given that it is currently cloth.
Anyway, the engine is in perfect condition and it drives fairly well i found this place after researching places to buy parts.
Any ideas for making the exterior look just that little bit nicer? I really want to keep the car as original as possible... So only smallish changes (except some AMG mags would be nice).
Marty.
