Hey guys, I'm having an unusual starting problem, the vehicle is a 2000 E320 wagon 158,000 miles when trying to start the car in the morning, car won’t start, after turning the ignition switch on and off and applying the brakes in order to shift into neutral then the car will start, I can run errand’s stop and re start all day with no problems. The problem is when I leave it sit over night the problem starts over again. turning the ignition switch on to put the trans in neutral does not always work hence the on and off until I can shift out of park to neutral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in Florida if the heat and humidity have anything to do with it. I do believe it is a mechanical issue but thought I would still mention the location.

 

ForcedInduction, thanks for the quick response, but my problem is not with the fuel system but with starting (cranking over) sorry I should have been more clearer. I had a diagnostic done and it didn't show any code issues
