Convertable top hydraulic system leaks
My 1997 SL500 has oil leaks by the visor latches. Can oil conditioner and "White Shepard" stop leak and oil conditioner revitalize the seals and stop the leaks? Has anyone tried this with success?

I decided to take my 97 SL 500 in to have the repairs done. Two cylinders, a new sensor switch and fluid, plus labor was close to $700. I just didn't have time to do it myself.

I just removed the two cylinders that accuate the latches on the soft top above the visors. It was remarkably EASY! I took photos and will soon be posting a "how to". I mailed the two cylinders to Dennis Ficker in Olathe , KS. He charges $50 per cylinder to rebuild, plus shipping. Here are 2 email links.
