Audi owner contemplating MB
Hi guys, like the subject says, I might buy a MB. The last one I owned was a 53, so I need some updated knowledge on classes and stuff. Yes, I wish I still had the 53 and no, I am not 100 yrs old. Ok on to the mean. Specifically, what class is a 91 300 TE 4matic wagon belong to? (6 cyl, gas). This car has 185K on the clock and I wonder if i am looking for trouble. With Audis, I now what to look for, what common ailments they have and so on.
Should I expect a lot of maintenence. (Remember, I drive audis, so everything is relative). I do 99% of my own work and have two or three of every tool made but it seems I needed some special Audi tool every time I turned around. One special tooll to remove headbolts and since new bolts were redesign, they made me buy another tool. Also had to make my own cam positioning tool.
So, that said, am I in for surprises? What should I be looking for or asking about in normal, common type repairs? Lastly, what would this thing be worth? I like the idea of all wheel drive wagon and have looked at some later model audis, which unfortunately require daily doses of maintenence.
Thanks for the help
