89 300e instrument light identification
I own a 1989 300E. Over the weekend one of the instrument panel lights came on. I misplaced my owners manual and I am lost as to what this light is. It's one of the lights on the lower left hand strip of lights. I beleive it's to the right of the "battery" light. If I had to describe it it looks like a circle with 3 dots on either side. The light is not on steadily but has popped on several times. I also noticed a significant dimisnished acceleration and the "ecomomy" fuel usage gauge was doing strange things. Any help is greatly appreciated in identifying this mysterious instrument light.
Thanks

What Color is the light ? is it Yellow or Red ?
If I remember correctly - If it is Yellow --> It sounds like you are describing the Brake Pad Wear Sensor. (O) <-- kind of looks like that but, the outer brackets are 3 small dashes each.
If it's Red.... it could be the Brake Fluid/Parking Brake indicator (which if the parking brake was not releasing it would exhibit the same problems you are experiencing.)
I'm not sure where you're from but, if the car has been subjected to harsh Winters where they use salt on the roads, you could have some corrosion causing the parking brake(s) to hang.
hope this helps
