My wife has an 2002 SLK and there is a problem with a roof warning alarm- it happens when she hit's a bump, accelerates or brakes- the roof warning beeps, the light under the switch flashes and continues. If she stops puts the roof down and back up, it goes away for a while, then hits a bump and it happens again. It's worse in the morning if the car has been out all night, just after starting the car and accelerating away. Anyone had the same problem? We just spent nearly $800 for mercedes dealer to investigate, take the roof apart and put it back, supposedly finding a loose wire, and it's back again... it's driving us nuts...

 

Check the tension on the switches that are held by the blind.
