Hi everyone!

I have a small problem with my automatic transmission. It works perfectly except when I press the gas pedal to the bottom and release it instantly why driving at higher speeds. When i do this the transmission loses gear and goes to neutral until the car slows down a bit and then it gets back to gear. Is this a safety feature or is there something wrong with thetransmission?

I'm having the same issue with my 2001 SLK320 R170. Any solutions or troubleshooting ideas?

 

Have you checked the oil level in the gearbox?
