Paying Too much? 230 or 320?
Hi - I'm just trying to decide b/t an SLK 230 and an SLK 320. I have no idea which to go with.
The prices are:
2002 SLK 230: $31,900 with 11,800 Miles
2002 SLK 320: $31,900 with 25,700 Miles
I've gotten each dealer down a bit in price, but don't know if I'm paying too much. They both have about 7 months left on warranty, plus the free year from the dealer.
Re: 230 vs 320, I get the feel from the forum that 230's have more problems than 320's verall. Would you agree?
THANKS!
-Genevieve

Thanks, Sleepwalker. I know the 320 is really nice and do enjoy a smoother, quieter ride. Do you feel the 320 is a more reliable car as far as problems?
Anyone willing to share how much they paid, what year, and how many miles were in the car?
Thanks

RE: Paying Too much? 230 or 320?
230 uses 111 engine while 320 uses 112. it's 4 against 6 cylinders.
more quiet and power too.
problems can happen to any model or any engine. it all depends on how you maintain the car. not much problem on 112 or 111 engines. some electrical malfunctions on the body cannot be avoided due to some poor quality semi-conductors and electronic parts.

RE: Paying Too much? 230 or 320?
Ive got a 1998 SLK230 with 90,000 kilometers. Cost 50k Aussie $$
goes plenty hard and is smooth.
Another reason is I get 36 mpg at 110kph and 26 hard driven around town.
Petrol costing as much as it now does and it runs on 92.RON (Standard unleaded in Australia.)

Well I have a 04 230 kompressor and I am quite happy with the performance.
I saved money both in purchase price and in fuel costs.
I drove the 230 k, the 320 and the 05 before the purchase and I am convinced that I made the right choice.
Best of luck, which ever one you buy you will love .
