Default service info

can anyone help my girlfriend has bought an slk230 (98) but it looks like it needs a service.
Is this hard to do?
I done my audi S2 and bmw 328i myself before.
The car has a full merc service history but is a bit older now so I don't see the point in puting it in to Mercedes to get one done.
Is there a reset tool similiar idea to bmw as I see there is a thing telling her that it approx 1700 over.

I can't find a haynes manual for this car is ther any other book or web sites to give me info. (I've not even looked under the bonnet yet)
But it'll be down to me to fix.[sm=smiley35.gif]
Any info would be most helpful as this is the 1st Merc we've owned. (no owner book with it either)

Will post a photo when weather gets better for a we bit of polish.
