I'm looking at buying a 98 slk 230 from a wholesale lot. On the trunk lid, exhaust tips and the rims it says RENNTECH. The car lot doesn't have any helpful history on the mods that have been made on this car. Was there a standared issue RENNTECH option on 98 230's? Bottom line is that I'd like to know what has been modified and would appreciate any info/speculation regarding this mod.
I know that RENNTECH is a performance shop in Florida but this car has always been owned in Texas per Carfax.

Ring/email Renntech. Give them chassis no etc. They will have a record of mods.

OK, from the pix I sent Renn Tech they spotted their rims (acutally OZ rims renn tech used to sell) and exhaust. They guess that there is also a larger crank pulley(+20hp) and a RENNtech ECU(+10hp). I'll be looking for these mods when I go to the car lot. 47,000 miles on the car. All this for the low, low price of $17,500.
