I have a 1999 Mercedes Benz SLK230k which has done 37,000 km. The car seems to have a problem withsudden acceleration. At a gradual speed the car is able to pick up well but when the accelerator is floored while initially moving the pick up is very slack. The Mercedes Benz mechanics have indicated that there is no problem with the sensors, fuel injector, filters, etc and the sytem to seems ok. They are still trying to find out what the reason could be. They are now looking at the wiring and the air intake.
Please help with suggestions if any.

I am not all that familiar with the 230 Kompressor but I just had my SLK320 doing the same thing with poor acceleration and hesitation when I was hard on the Gas, but when I eased on the gas it was ok. My Issue was caused bythe Mass Air Flow Sensor going bad. Initially the Check Engine Lightdid not come on and it took a while for thelight to finally come on. I just don't have much experience with the Kompressor models and there may be something more to your problem.

 

Get them to check the Camshaft pos sensor
The airbypass valve
The Maf

Ya might think about plugged exhaust.. Is your supercharger staying on?????

 

When I left my '01 SLK 320with the dealer for the tail light recall fix I was given a 2007 C230 for an overnight loaner. It had the same problem. Maybe it is the difference in engine size or that it was an automatic. (After driving it, I can't believe people buy them...[:'(]) My 6 speed doesn't have an significant hesitation...

 

My SLK230 1998 did the same thing it was the Mass air flow sensor. Dealers can keep you guessing if you don't stay on top of them.
