Default Plug non-foulers

Has anyone ever used the spark plug non-foulers to compensate for worn valve guides which can drip oil onto plugs and thereby foul them. I have been thinking of doing this rather than a tear-down and replacement of the guides but am unsure if there may be any adverse side-effects other than some loss of power due to reduced compression. I am thinking of using 1, maybe 2 at the most, since 1 cylinder has had plug fouling problems. Taking the plug out and cleaning it periodically is not a big job for someone who enjoys tinkering but this may save me the trouble. I have done this in other cars I have owned and it worked fine, but these little cars are highly electroniked, seem rather temperamental ,and may not be too modification friendly. Any thoughts, anyone?

My uncle had the same problem years ago. He installed the devices on each plug. Engine ran great for almost a week, then had the same condition. The non-foulers, got fouled up. Then he had to remove the devices to clean the plugs.

Thanks for the reply and the info. Any idea how long he could go before cleaning the plugs without the non-foulers?

It was a long time ago, but my uncle would drive the car until it missed so bad, that it was a hazard on the road. He actually had a second set of cleanplugs ready to change out. Not a great fix either way.
