Hello,

you know this might sound too simple, but I have experience this same problem with other vehicles that had one or a combination of the following:

1. loose battery cable durty or corroded ground.
2. battery with low charge
3. starter with hi resistance thru it
4. alternator that is not charging the battery enough...
5. a shorted ingition switch.

my 2 cents

After ranting at MB the dealer is gonna investigate[sm=imsmilin.gif] the fault?
free of charge - [sm=sigh.gif] - big deal as they have alledgedly been "investingating"
since November last year at MY considerable expense - & without success[sm=smiley35.gif]
I have demanded they collect car from my home (will it start?) because in my opinion its
A DANGEROUS UNRELIABLE PIECE OF KRAP[sm=guilty.gif] which I aint prepared to drive
until they Prove to me its SAFE.
Dealer picking up thursday 10th - it would be poetic justice if the pile of **** dont start
or cuts out on them[sm=exactly.gif] but i bet iit will be fine.
Also i have e-mailed some motoring jornalists in UK for advice and my consumer rights
