cruise control problem
hi
i have a slk 230 r170 1996 p reg that has now developed a cruise control problem since i drove through flood waters
as we know it works at 20mph onwards
mine does still do this but at 28/29mph it cuts out and the car slows down as if you have cancelled the control
i have heard that there is some sort of valve/motor that does the 'cruise' job
now is this an electrical or mech problem
as in has water got into the electrics and rotten the cables or has something like a leaf trapped up against a valve inlet or something???
it should be taken into consideration that the alarm was going off all night on and off until the enginebay dried up a good 5 or 6 days later
can anyone help?? its doing my head in
